Title 1 funds are used to provide supplemental reading and math teachers, educational assistants, family liaison workers, supplemental reading, mathematics and science materials, after school programs, computer programs and parent involvement activities. Each school develops a plan to provide Title 1 support that will meet the unique needs of students at the school.

Allow your student to make mistakes and learn to accept consequences. Give your student responsibilities at home such as chores. Create a study routine. Encourage your student to use a planner and set a time for homework every day. Go over the completed homework together. Encourage your student to listen and participate in class. Advise them to take notes to help them concentrate on what is being said. Active participation in class increases a student’s interest in what they are learning. Make school important. Insist on good attendance, punctuality, proper dress, and respect. Be a role model. Your student notices and learns from all you do. Be positive about education and show you enjoy learning. Get involved in school. Meet your student’s teachers, attend school events, and volunteer if possible. You are a role model for your child. Demonstrate good work habits.
